FAQ

About Techypop® Cases

What is it made of? What does it feel like?

Techypop® cases are made of polymer clay. The case feels like soft silicone but firmer — softer than hard plastic. That softness is what absorbs shock when your phone hits the ground.

Do Techypop® cases protect my iPhone?

Yes. The polymer clay forms a thick layer of protection that absorbs shock and impact from drops and sharp-corner landings. Every Techypop® case wraps all four corners of your device.

Is every case exactly the same?

No — and that’s the point. Every case is sculpted by hand, so eyes sit at slightly different angles, veins run differently, and no two pieces of “blood” drip the same way. Yours is the only one that looks like yours.

Is it heavy or bulky?

It has real presence. These are sculpted art objects, not slim shells, so expect noticeable thickness and weight. Most of our customers consider that a feature.

Fit & Compatibility

Which iPhone models do you fit?

Scroll the dropdown on the product page to find your model. If you scroll through and don’t see it listed, add your model in the note section at checkout — we can sculpt the case to fit it. The one thing we can’t customize is the design itself: pick a style from the collection as it is.

Does it work with MagSafe or wireless charging?

Because of the thickness of the sculpted clay, Techypop® cases are not compatible with MagSafe or wireless charging. Remove the case to charge wirelessly, or use a cable.

Durability & Care

Will the clay crack or break?

Cured polymer clay is stable and flexible, not brittle. It won’t crack from everyday use or normal drops. It can be damaged by extreme force or extreme heat, so don’t leave your case on a car dashboard in summer.

Will the colors fade?

Our clay is white — every color you see is applied by hand afterward. That’s what gives each piece its depth, and it also means the finish is hand-painted rather than dyed all the way through, so it does need some care. Direct sunlight will dull the pigment over time. Keep your case out of windowsills and off hot dashboards, keep alcohol and solvents away from it, and don’t scrub the surface. Treat it like the hand-painted object it is and it will hold its look.

How do I clean it?

Wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth — no pressure, no scrubbing, since the surface is hand-painted. Skip alcohol, acetone, and any harsh cleaner: solvents can lift the color and soften the clay. Never use hot water or put it anywhere near a dishwasher.

Shipping & Delivery

How long until my case ships?

If your model is one of our popular ones, your case is already made and in stock — it ships within one business day.

If you’ve ordered a custom fit for a model that wasn’t in the dropdown, we sculpt yours from scratch: 5 days to sculpt, then 5 more days to air dry. That’s 10 days of making before your case leaves us, plus normal delivery time on top — so plan on roughly two to three weeks total, depending on where you are. The drying can’t be rushed. Clay that hasn’t fully cured won’t hold its shape or protect your phone, so we wait it out.

Do you ship worldwide? What does shipping cost?

We ship worldwide, and shipping is free on orders of $45 and up — which covers every case and every LumiBow™ on its own. Orders under $45 have a flat $5 shipping fee.

Gifting

Is it gift-wrapped? Can I get a card with it?

It doesn’t need wrapping. Every case arrives in our own printed box — deep purple, all smoke and swirl — and it’s ready to give exactly as it is, at no extra cost. Cards are the one thing we don’t offer yet, so if you’re giving someone a bleeding eyeball, you’ll have to explain yourself in person.

Giving Back & Support

Is part of my order donated?

Yes. With every Techypop® purchase, we donate 5% of the profit to Vibe Arts — a registered Canadian charity that has been running arts education and mentorship programs for children and young artists in under-resourced communities since 1995. Buying something strange and beautiful helps someone else learn how to make things too.

What if something’s wrong with my case?

Email us at service@techypop.com with a photo of the issue and we’ll make it right.
